Kat is the President and founder of KataVolt Media, which opened in 2010 and has offices in New York City and Westhampton Beach, NY.
Prior to starting KataVolt Media, Kat spent over 10 years as senior writer, editor, project lead, and writing trainer and an additional 20+ years in technical sales for Sun Microsystems and NBI, Inc. This combined experience of covering companies in nearly every market segment enables her to see things from both a marketing, sales, and customer point of view. In addition to overseeing the business, Kat specializes in running messaging workshops to discover a solution’s (or alliance’s) unique value to the marketplace.
Kat has passions that extend beyond owning and managing KataVolt Media. Kat was raised in Colorado and is an avid outdoors woman. She enjoys fly fishing and travels the world to do so, particularly Ireland. . Kat is currently writing a book on 19th century salmon flies and is president of a women’s fishing and sporting club.
Kat lives on Long Island with her husband, Rob, and dogSpencer who frequently voices his opinion on conference calls (the dog, not the husband). Kat attended Hunter College and New York University for Computer Science.

Rob is the Vice President of KataVolt Media. He has over 20 years of experience in computer technology, primarily in the banking industry. Robert is responsible for the IT infrastructure of KataVolt Media, conducts technical client research, and writes several weekly technical blogs. He attended Adelphi University for Computer Science. Rob’s hobbies include ham radio and anything having to do with computers. Rob resides in the New York Metro Area.

A senior writer, designer, and marketing consultant for KataVolt Media, Erin has nearly two decades of experience in the technology industry. As a marketing expert, she has held product definition, portfolio management, and strategic marketing roles at Sun Microsystems, Oracle, Mellanox Technologies, and RAE Systems. Erin works closely with clients to develop audience-specific sales, marketing, and technical content that helps them connect more effectively with their customers. Her breadth of experience across all levels of organizations allows Erin to explain complex technical concepts to a wide range of audiences. She uses this ability to create everything from e-books and infographics to solution briefs and strategic messaging. Erin holds a B.S. in Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences from the University of Michigan and currently resides in Stockholm, Sweden. Eric is a senior writer and technical editor with over 25 years working with and writing about technology. He has broad experience in a variety of technical topics including high-performance computing (HPC), networking, multimedia, storage, virtualization, cloud computing, and systems architecture. Eric also worked as a Systems Engineer for Sun Microsystems, Inc. supporting government, military, and commercial customers with a focus in graphics, multimedia, and networking technologies. Before working for Sun, Eric managed a UNIX support and system administration center at New Mexico State University where he received a BS in Computer Science. Eric Belove is a writer and B2B marketing strategist with KataVolt. With over 20 years in both agency and client environments, he was the owner and creative director of an interactive agency for many years before selling and moving into various senior marketing leadership roles with technology companies. He worked for LCI Communications, Minicom, uReach Technologies, and Raritan Computer, finishing his career as Global Head of Marketing & Strategy for Wipro Technologies’ Global Media & Telecom business unit. His work with Google, IBM Microsoft, AWS, Oracle, Red Hat, HP, and Wipro has given him access to the entire spectrum of state-of-the-art technologies that will be major factors in information technology and commerce well into the 21st century. ric’s unique blend of creativity, technical know-how, and business savvy enable him to develop content and marketing programs that shrink the sales cycle and drive revenue by nurturing suspects, prospects, and customers from awareness to sales-ready and beyond. Richard is a senior technical writer and editor for KataVolt Media. He has over 30 years of experience in computing and large-scale application development. Richard has created programming guides and reference manuals, technical articles and man pages, release notes, has edited programming books, and consulted on information design. He takes pride in his ability to translate gnarly engineering-speak into meaningful technical documentation and technical marketing collateral for complex software products.
While at KataVolt Media, Richard has worked on contracts with Oracle, SanDisk, and Salesforce, among others. Before joining KataVolt Media, Richard was lead technical writer at Sun Microsystems/Oracle for 17 years specializing in C, C++, Fortran, and high-performance computing, and the editor/author/blogger of over 30 technical articles on the Sun Developer/Oracle Technical Network. Prior to working at Sun, Richard began his career as a systems programmer for scientific supercomputing centers at New York University and the University of California Lawrence Berkeley Lab. Richard holds a B.S. in Mathematics and resides in the San Francisco Bay Area. In his spare time he is a contemporary classical music enthusiast and has curated music programs on Bay Area radio stations for decades .
Becky is a senior technical writer for KataVolt Media. Becky has over 25 years of experience as both a technical writer and a historical fiction novelist. Since joining KataVolt, she has written creative online courseware for Salesforce and written modules about Salesforce, CRM, cloud-based computing, data modeling, Health Cloud for Payers, Lightning Knowledge migration, Field Service Lightning, and other topics. Prior to this, Becky was a freelance writer, novelist, and marketing consultant to various authors. Becky wrote the award-winning Hannah Vogel mysteries set in Berlin in the 1930s for Tor/Forge Books (division of Macmillan) which include A Trace of Smoke (May 2009), A Night of Long Knives (June 2010), A Game of Lies (July 2011), and A City of Broken Glass (July 2012). And she co-wrote the New York Times bestselling Order of the Sanguines series for HarperCollins Publishers which include The Blood Gospel (January 2013), Innocent Blood (December 2013), and Blood Infernal (February 2015). Prior to 2010, Becky was a writer with LOC-AID Technologies, a senior information developer with Sun Microsystems, and a senior technical writer with Hyperion Solutions, Vitria, and Sybase. Richard is a content writer for KataVolt Media. Richard spent 20+ years in IT as programmer, analyst, team leader, and development manager with Courtaulds and McDonnell Douglas in the UK. He also worked as a development manager at the National Library in New Zealand and as an independent consultant with a focus on compliance, testing, and project management. His last major consulting project involved development and test management of the New Zealand Land Information system – the world’s first integrated land title and survey system using mobile technology. Richard began working for New York-based Nokia to develop on a new mobile platform. Since that time, Richard has been writing primarily about mobile technology for a developer audience and is involved in several business ventures. He earned a B.S. in Engineering and Business from the University of Warwick in Coventry, UK. Richard currently resides in New Zealand and pursues xyz in his spare time.

Prior to joining KataVolt Media, Mateo was a senior technical writer and illustrator with Wind River, where he wrote and illustrated compiler manuals, networking guides, embedded programming guides, and whiteboard videos. He was also a senior cartoonist and illustrator with Nuclear Flatworms and a senior technical writer with VMWare, NetFlix, Oracle, and Sun Microsystems. He received a Masters degree in English and Creative Writing From San Francisco State University. After earning a B.S. in Biology from Reed College in Oregon, he started his career as a Systems Analyst at Johnson-Laird, Inc. but quickly got back to his roots by serving as a Fisheries Extensionist in the Peace Corps. Mateo lives in in the San Francisco Bay area. In his spare time, he enjoys the art of political satire.
Andy is a graphic artist for KataVolt Media. He uses his knowledge of Adobe products to create custom imagery and infographics for use in client presentations, white papers, webinars, and blogs. Andy has over 30 years of experience in graphic, digital, and print design for tech companies, start-ups, non-profits, and municipalities. Andy also trains franchise owners in the use of Adobe Creative Suite and the printing process. Andy resides in Charlotte, NC area with his bride of 29 years.

She received a BA in Economics and Political Science from Cornell University and has continued her education by taking graphic design, web design, and animation classes at NYU and the School of Visual Arts. Hyun currently lives in New York City. In her spare time, she enjoys fly fishing and is involved with numerous fly fishing organizations including the Juliana’s Anglers Sporting Club, where she first met Kat.
